October 12, 1966 - Another one of Sox G.M. Ed Short’s best moves. He send two time former All Star Juan Pizarro, nursing a bad arm, to the Pirates for minor league pitcher Wilbur Wood. Wood would blossom in Chicago thanks to his knuckleball, first as a record setting relief pitcher then as a four time twenty game winner from 1971 through 1974.

October 12, 2005 - In one of the strangest endings to a post season game in history, the Sox beat the Angels 2 - 1, in Game #2 of the A.L.C.S. With the game tied in the 9th inning catcher A.J. Pierzynski ran to first on a dropped third strike. The Angels thought he struck out and never contested the play. After pinch runner Pablo Ozuna stole second, Joe Crede’s double brought home the game winner.

I believe Joe Buck is still whining about that strikeout.

"Off the wall, the White Sox have won... and this only begins what will be an argument from Scioscia and the Anaheim Angels."

I was just happy the White Sox won, and I didn't care how.

I was too busy being at the game and being part of the longest post-game celebration I've ever experienced to care about what the media said.

People just stayed in their seats for like twenty minutes cheering.
