I say they break out tonight. It'll be 10-3 in by the 9th inning*

Unless the Cubs offense does something, it is over tonight. Pitching won't be the main issue.

Ideally, I would like to see the Cubs go deeper into the playoffs, only because it would greatly diminish their run in '08. I would not want them to get the pennant, however. And emotionally, let 'em be gone tonight!

If so, the nightmare will turn into yet another dream come true. It's worth the agony of watching them make the playoffs to watch the disaster that always unfolds.

Rich Hill is a much better pitcher than Livan Hernandez. The Cubs offense is even more better than the Arizona offense. This is a no-brainer: Cubs win, and they win by a substantial margin.

They will probably win today, their offense shouldn't have a problem with Livan.

Luckily the next game is at noon so we don't have to put up with the hysteria of a win for long, I guess the disappointment will be better if they get built up again, because I know they will all pull this 'we believe' crap after today

If Livan can get the Cubs hitters to chase pitches out of the zone, Webb and Davis certainly had no problem doing this, I like Zona. Though seeing what Rich Hill will do will be interesting. At times he looks unhittable, especially when facing aggressive offenses, but this is his first playoff start, I don't think anyone knows what to expect from him.

Well, once again, I am struck by some of the little similarities between the D'Backs and the 2005 Sox. First it was the positive attitude, the enthusiasm, and the fact that they all seem to be nice guys who genuinely like each other. But now we're hearing all this Livan Hernandez crap. IIRC, we were hearing similar crap against El Duque. Has anyone forgotten his playoff performance? There were a lot more runs available that inning for the Diamondbacks; they simply didn't have the talent to cash in more than 2. On a night when homers come easy, this is gonna cost them big.

Middle of the order has been brutal for Arizona. Have they even gotten a hit from the cleanup spot?
