A runner on first with one out in the FIRST INNING indicates the Cubs are "well on their way" to a win?

Unfortunately, the rag-tag Arizona lineup was unable to convert.

It's good to see that Lilly is a bit wild, but veteran pitchers have a tendency to settle down after one rough inning. May well be the last chance Arizona had.

You can't have both Fields and Owens in the outfield. If you want to give the job to one of them, fine; not both...that outfield is too weak defensively. And if it's Fields, you better have a Gold Glover in CF unless he makes great strides over the offseason.

Not only did Byrnes up the price of Rowand, he upped the price of Hunter and Jones, as well. One of which we could really use next year.

Oh, I agree, every single AL game means tons more than any game against the flubbies. However, it's really odd to see anyone cheering on both teams in this town especially someone who takes the time to post on one of the most die hard biased sites around. It's just not done. Yes, we understand that part. But why are you here? You will not convert anyone here to cheer for the Flubs with you. Your buddies over at NSBB (http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=44661) will welcome you with open arms. You can cry on each others' shoulder and comfort one another.

Did it through anyone else off when that WAMU guy (the one who had to be in the room with the naked old men bankers) was in that last Chevy commercial?
I didn't see it, but I know what you mean. Does anyone remember the Cingular commercials that aired the last few years during the NCAA tournament? A slovenly buffoon with an Asian guy who gets the video on his phone? Well, the other day when I was filling up at Shell, the Asian guy came on the video screen (they have them at pumps now) posing as a scientist and talking about how Shell works to improve oil, etc. It was weird. When you see someone in a certain role for so long, you can't imagine them in another role.

Anyway, kudos to getonbckthr for being honest, even knowing that this would happen in WSI.

Donovan McNabb at the game. Don't tell me he's another Cub fan from the South Side.

RBI Single by Ojeda. 7-2 'Zona.

Eyre hurt, Wuretz coming in for the Cubs.

Really Ron? It took 7 runs for you to figure that out? you didn't realize that when Byrnesy tripled? or when Drew tripled?

That's known as a joke. Sort of a play on all Cub fans as "Chads". Pity I had to explain it, because a good joke is one you don't have to explain. Oh well, there goes my career in standup.

I don't watch a lot of National League baseball, so I never noticed this about Chase Field....that is the worst set-up behind home plate in all of baseball. It is like a bar back there. It is so annoying I can barely watch the game...I couldn't imagine trying to pitch. Last night some dude had a neon Cubs sign flashing. Tonight nobody is watching the game, and they are all talking on cell phones. What a joke!

....and GO DBACKS!:bandance:

The D-Backs seem to be big fans of the Chicago Marathon. Very thoughtful of them to try to lessen the congestion on the north side Sunday.

Stockton: "What has happened to the Chicago Cubs in this series?"

I'll answer that question. They're facing a team better than them. They aren't taking on Pittsburgh or Cincinnati this time.

Did they really just ask what is wrong with the Cubs? Did they happen to notice how the Cubs got in the playoffs? Because they sucked a little less than Milwaukee.

I just said the same thing in a conversation Im having with a friend. They are NOT good. It's really a simple concept. LOL. I love this.

Why the hell are the D-backs swinging on 3-0? Young completely gave away that at-bat when a walk would have loaded the bases with only 1 out.

The Cubs have had two teams this century better than their '07 squad. This 2007 team doesn't belong anywhere near the World Series.

Technically it is. Korbel is sparking wine and champaign only truly comes from Champaign, France.
