This is not what you want to see on the cover of SI as the playoffs start

Your White Sox were one of the first victims of the jinx in 1959

The Packers, the Red Sox and someone who went to University of Iowa, all gracing the same cover. That is definitely a sight for sore eyes.

When one considers that the Cleveland player is more prominent in that particular cover photo, one could argue that the SI Jinx struck again -- by taking out the Indians that year.

Of course, I'd rather think that it was just a matter of the better ballclub winning in '05.

I never realized what a bunch of incredible crybabies Boston fans are until I actually moved here.

They gave this incredble standing ovation for Manny last night when he came back, like he had just had some sort of miracle recovery from a career-threatening injury.

As for the SI cover... Quit whining, at least you're in the playoffs.

You mean a White Sox team in the World Series once rated a SI cover?
What a concept!

**** Sports Illustrated.

Actually, now that the AL teams are set, I'm rooting for the "Injuns" to represent the AL. I like the thought of the AL Central being the badasses in the league. 3 years in a row representing the league in the WS would do that.

I'm not.

I hate the damn Indians. Those sons of *****es owned us for years and years and years and I'd rather see the scum laden Red Sox win the World Series for the next thirty years before I want to Cleveland in another World Series game.

No me. I'm a Sox fan. Not a AL Central fan. Screw the Tigers, Indians, Twins, & Royals. If the Sox can't have it, I don't want any of them to have it.

I suppose that my rooting interest in the AL Central comes from living out here for so long and hearing BS from AL East fans... even O's fans have nerve to talk junk about the other two divisions. Anything that will shut them up about that, I'm all for. OTOH, if is was the Twinkees, all bets are off.

I'd rather pull for the Angels than the Indians.

That's true, but despite the fact I like the way they play, they don't move me one way or the other. If they end of winning the AL, no sleep lost here, however. Much better than either the Yanks or the (ugh!) Red Cubs. I still prefer Cleveland over either of them.
