September 25, 1970 - In a double header at Comiskey Park, Luis Aparicio sets the record for most games played at shortstop by one player. Aparicio plays in his 2,219th game breaking the mark held by Luke Appling.

According to White Sox records, Aparicio played 1,511 games with the Sox. He is in 8th place for most games played for the Sox.

Correct, my bad the mark should be for games played in MLB at the position.
