My family has had season tickets to Fenway since 1963. My nephew uses them now.

Today the invoice came for the playoffs :o:

Our seats this year are $85 for the regular season ( they were $16 in 1996 )

For the ALDS $120
ALCS $170
World Series $250

A strip of 2 tickets for 11 possible games comes to $4,450

Hey, someone has to pay for J.D. Drew's contract.

I'm more worried about A-Rod coming here. Lucchino worships him.

Oh it is hard being a Red Sox fan. You have to worry about things like your franchise signing the best player in baseball this offseason, or how much your World Series tickets might cost you.

I have been told that the postseason ticket revenues go to Major League Baseball, that teams and players get shares. I also have been told that teams that don't make the playoffs can profit if the fans keep their postseason tickets as souvenirs instead of refunding them. For that kind of money, I think it is unlikely many would do that, but I heard that a lot of Cubs fans didn't refund their 1984 World Series tickets.

I have an '83 World Series ticket marked "refunded." Why wouldn't they seek the refund and keep the stub? Or does the Trib make you buy the souvenir?

It is the $16 charge per ticket per game that gets me for handling. Then only 18 for shipping.
