Jerry Remy just did an interview with Ozzie which we fed back to Boston for later playback...

Some highlights:
REMY: I picked you to win the Central this year. What happened?

OZZIE: You tell me...I thought I had a better club than 2005 leaving Arizona.

REMY: Have your players quit?

OZZIE: If I thought that I would quit.

OZZIE. Look the truth here is Boston has made us look bad 6 games in a row. It took a great catch by Jerry (Owens) in Boston to beat them but since then they have toyed with us. They are by far the best team we have played.

We are not close now. Seattle toyed with us, Oakland just owns us at their place and now this. We have a lot of work ahead.

This series really changes the whole mindset of what this team is. They've got a lot of 1-dimensional guys on this staff, and those single dimensions for just about everyone have deteriorated or been thoroughly exposed. What a nightmare this whole thing is.

I still don't think the Sox should get crazy with cutting yet. Right now, they need to find something to play for. There's so little effort in the field it seems, its embarassing. And if this team is going to bat like this next season, its just going to be more of the same. There's no fire ANYwhere.

There is a team coming in tonight that doesn't want the worst record in baseball.....

I like the Sox schedule the rest of the way. We got our asses handed to us from Seattle and Boston, but we've got TB, Texas, LAA (another one we'll get our asses handed to us in), and then the ALC who we play pretty well against (especially the Royals and Tigers...the Indians are the only team we really struggle against in the Central). Hopefully we spare embarrassment for the rest of the year.

Do you mean the team or the pitching staff? I've been wondering how Boston got to the Sox' starters during the series. Garland gave up 1 run in 3 innings, then a 4 spot in the fourth; Danks had a shutout until a 5 spot in the fourth; Buehrle had a shutout through 5 then gave up a 4 spot in the sixth; finally Vazquez gave up 1 run through 4, and then a 4 spot in the fifth. Were the Boston hitters simply that much better at making adjustments than the Sox pitchers?
