Just checking out the box scores lately for the D'Backs.. Last Tuesday they used Augie Ojeda to pitch a scoreless 8th and last night used Jeff Cirillo to pitch a scoreless 9th... Kinda funny to see, wonder who amongst our infielders would fare as well?

Really? Weird. Nobody here is talking about it. Maybe we could use him as a starter this year...

It's not uncommon, especially late in the season for a position player be brought in to pitch in a blowout. It just so happened the blowouts were close and that they were both former Twins players.

Did Augie Ojeda really get that much playing time with the Twins?
I seem to recall reading once that Pablo Ozuna was available to pitch in a game where the White Sox nearly ran out of pitchers.

Cirillo actually looked like he had some decent sinking movement on his fastball, and he wasn't throwing lolly pops in there. Better looking than some position players I've seen pitch.

I think it was the second or third game of the season in 2005, when Chris Widger was warming up in the bullpen.

That's right. I forgot about that. That was the game vs Cleveland where Shingo blew it in the 9th, then Vizcaino took a beating in the 11th because there was no one else to pitch.

Damn, the teal police got me. I'm a Twins fan, what do I know?
