Follow this link and scroll all the way to the end of the baseball uniform section (it's alphabetical). Some of the pix I've seen elsewhere here on WSI, some are new, like the pictures of prototypes that were not chosen for the official uniform.

Interesting stuff!

Cool link. I like the Padres "P" with the plam tree inside of it.

I remember being at the park when they displayed the prototypes for fan voting. Even as an 11 year old kid, I thought some of them looked awful.

Awful. Montreal Expos + Houston Astros = :o:

I can't even begin to imagine what the road uniforms would have looked like.

I really like the ones on the far right.

I really like the ones on the far right.

Maybe for a softball team they would look alright...but a professional baseball team?

I'm glad we currently have great uniforms. Hopefully there is never a change again, because the current ones are timeless. Especially considering the kinds of changes that have happened recently (Nationals, D'Backs...both kind of look like they're from the 80s).

It was the 80's. Those are head and shoulders above the rest of the line.

Edit - The Blue Jays really should have went with those blue vests.

It looks like the picture was taken about five seconds before he punched out the camera man.

They had to have known, that no matter what they chose, they wouldn't look as sharp as Cleveland.

Former White Sox pitching coach, Jackie Brown :D:

If I were a Sox fan, I'd be broke flat because I buy unis/jerseys of my favorite team. With the Tigers, there is only one home, and only two different away schemes in the last 35 years. So I only own three really. It boggles my mind how the Sox could wear a new uni every two season. It wouldn't be bad if they just stuck with one for a while rather then mixing and matching then tossing it before bringing a new one.

But hey, the Tigers had their own share of goofs. The 1960 Home unis. http://www.thedeadballera.com/TeamPhotos/1960Tigers.jpg

Those definitely have a Dodgers feel to them.

Of course, but that's not saying much.

Well...we've had pretty much the same unis for the last 17 years...but Reinhorn were pretty committed to obliterating all things related to our history for the first 9 years of their ownership (generic stadium, Astro like uniforms, out of town announcers, etc.)...

They did get one thing correct: the guy second from the left actually has WHITE SOCKS (stirrups, but whose counting).

IMO, these uni's can stay for another 17 years. I think they give class and lend some history to the franchise....and I think the flags around the park showing the different deliniations of the Sox logo as well as the armrests in the aisles give fans their history without it having to be worn on the field every three years in uni changes.

As much as I hate Steinbrenner, he's right - it ain't broke, so don't fix it (i.e., Yankee uniforms).

I still think that when the park opened he purposely didn't put up many commemorations of hte old one because he wanted to show everyone that it was HIS team, he wanted to wipe out most of Veeck's ideas (outside of the scoreboard) of course.

I would have voted none of the above. Too bad more people didn't!

There are definitely some weird jerseys and promotions out there...sometimes only in Minor League Baseball.
