Last night was the deadline for signing draft picks and I hadn't heard anything about the Sox inking their remaining picks to any deals. Anyone else hear anything?

I guess I didn't look too hard.

So it appears as if Griffith didn't sign.

Off to college ball, perhaps?

Indeed. He's already pitched in six games.

I guess the Sox site isn't up to date? If this is the case, all three of the Sox top three picks signed so they will not be receiving comp picks in the 2008 draft.

Hopefully the Sox will update their website today on the final signings.

Haha...that site says we didn't sign 30 of our top 45 picks. Something tells me that it isn't up to date.

Just happy Oney Guillen signed. Is it too soon for him to be a September call up?

Anyone know how much $ the 1B Patterson was asking for to keep him from Auburn? I know he was not going to sign for 24 rd. money since he was considered a top talent...

Looks like the Sox did pretty good signing 19 out of the first 22.:bandance:

Great to see them signed, but their true worth will be determined in getting to the majors or netting us something good in a trade. All the draft picks should be shown a picture of MB. He was not a high draft pick, and he's one of the best guys in the entire org, making millions and owning a WS ring. Shows with hard work and talent utilization, what you can do.

Was the deadline yesterday for all draft picks? I thought it was just 1st round picks deadline? Can anyone clarify...

It was the deadline for all 2007 picks that are not already college seniors. Players that don't sign are returned to the pool but can't play pro ball for a year (they can be picked in the next year's draft, however). If a team's first or second round pick doesn't sign, the team is awarded the same pick position in the next year's draft as compensation. If a team's third pick doesn't sign, the team gets a sandwich pick between the third and fourth rounds.

Maybe they figured they'd be signing another A-Rod and wouldn't want to get them confused.
