I've got everyone beat for futility this year. I'm 1W-10L spanning 3 ballparks and two time zones. When we talk again about "lean" years and what qualifies you as a true blue Sox fan, I will be thinking about the 2007 baseball season. I've paid my dues this year. A sub-arctic temperature loss to the Indians on the 2nd game of the season, a rained out game to the Yankees, a rain delayed loss to the Yankees, a plain ol' loss to the Yankees, 2 losses to the hated Cubs (1 at the Urinal and 1 at home), a heartbreaking loss to the Orioles that Bukvich flushed, a patriotic loss to the Orioles on the 4th of July, a loss to the Jays that broke a rare win streak, and of course, 2 dreadful losses to the lowly Pirates in Pittsburgh...ugh...the only win I saw this year was the Saturday game at PNC Park. I've yet to see a win at our ballpark this year. If I don't see a win at our park in '07, this will be the first time this has ever happened to me in a season.:(: Only 7 weeks of baseball left to get my first '07 home victory.

I don't keep track of the home record but I know I'm losing since I have only missed like six games but I am 1-7 on the road. Two loses in Cleveland, two in Philly, split one and one in Pitt and two losses in Baltimore.

The real reason the Sox sunk this year, not the collapse of the pullpen and Jose's fastball, not the lack of hitting by the big sticks or fielding at SS, ... it was AnkleSox only went to 15 games!!

Perhaps the "Flying Elvi" can drop a win on me tomorrow night.

EDIT ON 8-11-07:
Thanks to Bobby Jenks tying the record and the good luck I'm attributing to the "Flying Elvi" last night, I have another win... so now make it:

3 - 7

At least 3 games left so it doesn't look good for me to hit .500 this year.

I'm down to 5-10 after today's pathetic loss. One more loss, and it will be a new season record for me.

As a side note, I'm 5-1 when Buehrle pitches. I'm 0-9 with everyone else.

0-4. May be the first season in my life where I have not attended a White Sox winner. (I'm 21)

I went to opening day (Ha!), loss against cubs, loss against Houston, and Aug 9th against Cleveland, where I actually thought they were going to win, but Buehrle had a bad game. If I don't go to another game this year then this will be the first ever winless season for me. I don't have any current plans to go to another game this year with the semester starting up next week. What a disappointing season...

The Sox generally lose when I'm in attendance. I once had a streak of about 11 games in a row that spanned two seasons. It included, amongst others, the last regular season game of 2000, games one and two of the ALDS and opening day of 2001.

I feel your pain. My longest personal losing streak is 9... in 2005. I went from the last Sunday in June until the last home game of the regular season without seeing a win! :o: For obvious reasons, I was scared to death to go to the playoffs, but I ended up going 3-0 in October- Game 2 of the ALDS, Game 2 of the ALCS, and Game 1 of the World Series.

That's some accomplishment for a year where they only lost 63 games. It's possible you hold the record for that season.
