August 7, 1910 - Sox pitcher "Big" Ed Walsh fires the first shutout in the original Comiskey Park when he blanks the Washington Senators 4 - 0.

August 7, 1970 - In the midst of the worst season in franchise history, some smiles are seen after the Sox unveil the ĎBig White Machine,í at Comiskey Park. The car was a 1929 Ford, rebuilt and put together by Sox players Ed Herrmann, Bill Melton, Syd OíBrien and the folks at Hawkinson Ford. It circled Comiskey Park every time the Sox won a home game (which wasnít often!) (Herrmann talked about how this contraption came about in his White Sox Interactive interview.)

August 7, 1994 - In a game in Anaheim, Frank Thomas drives in two RBIís in the Sox 10 - 5 win in twelve innings. The RBIís are his 100th and 101st on the season. They come in the teamís 110th game which sets the franchise mark for fastest to 100 RBIís. Thomas held the old mark set the year before, when he collected his 100th RBI in the teamís 118th contest.
