Both JD and Uribe had their pants pulled up and look... a solo shot today and a granny today!!! All I can say is...YEEEEESSSS!!!! From Mark, you got what he usually does.

Also- Josh crushed that ball. Whoa!!!! 2 good plays by Pods in LF. One was a diving catch. The other one was a running back catch. NICE!!! Lastly, nice play by Erstad at first.

DO IT AGAIN BOYS!!!!

Time to update my sig... :D:

I'm glad Wasserman did well enough in the ninth that Jenks could have a night off for a change.

Buehrle, solid other than the one bad inning. We'll take it. Let's get the series win tomorrow behind Vazquez and then roll the dice with Floyd on Sunday.

Uribe hitting the ball to the opposite field? What got into him tonight?

Good game all around. Plus, we have a chance to put some distance between us and the Royals!!

This is the first time I've been able to see Wasserman pitch, but I like him out of the bullpen. I always like to have a guy with a real funky delivery in the bullpen, just to change it up. He might not be awesome, but if Wasserman can continue to throw strikes, this is a step in the right direction in fixing the bullpen.

Yankees are winning, as of now, 7 to 1. A-Rod has not hit 500. The game is in the 9th inning.

Nice win.
Good to see what had been a slumping Fields get a hit.
Uribe hit #11...his HR count between 15-20 has made him the equivalent of the .330 OBP no power SS. He may get there again, albeit largely in garbage time.
Richar has spent most of his time in the majors hitting between the 2 worst hitters in the lineup....he's hanging in pretty well.
Meanwhile, Gonzalez leads off and Ertad plays a power position and gets his obligatory 2 spot...the use of personnel gets more and more bizarre. Can we return to the 2005 offensive philosophy please?

I wouldn't mind seeing Richar move up in the lineup. Options were pretty limited tonight with both Thome and Cintron unavailable, and AJ in need of a day off after catching in the 95 degree heat yesterday.

If only we didn't do so terrible against the NL, we always beat Det, injuries have played some roll too, would've been nice to be closer. Oh well, operation .500

The Chillicothe Paints (http://www.frontierleague.com/teams/chillicothe.php) ? Sure they are 32 and 35 but why do they need pulling up? No team is a match for the Windy City Thunderbolts.

The fat lady has sung, gone home, taken a bath and gone to sleep. It is absolutely over.

They're playing for .500 now. If they get hot, they may finish with 85 wins, and that would take a minor miracle.

English teachers everywhere are cringing over this thread. My perspective, as a pedantic SOB college professor, is that English teachers don't know English or don't care, and only want to teach literature. This is based on the continually declining writing skills of my students.

Even in the depths of our despair during interleague play, when the Sox amassed a despicable 4-14 record, I knew they would play better baseball and eventually close the gap in the AL Central. I think they will finish close enough in the race - I'm guessing 7 or 8 games back - to make us all look back at individual games in which they squandered opportunities.

Uribe hitting the ball to the opposite field? What got into him tonight?

Fortune; he swung at a fastball half a foot off the plate that was being delivered by a hard throwing left hander.

I'd prefer that 2008 open up without Uribe at shortstop.

You know, that would seem a lot like how I was after last season ended. I always remeber, even after a game, man, if only we did this. It was always just one little thing that we could have done for a couple more times and we would have been in the playoffs.

Buehrle's going through a real nice stretch here. At this point, it feels like a certain win every time he takes the mound.

Imagine how crappy we'd feel if Mark's contract talks feel through and he was indeed traded by the deadline. Our rotation would be Garland-Javy-Danks-Contreras-Floyd. :o:
