Hope he's alright, but the real story is the bullpen imploding in the 9th. :redneck

Zambrano, who has added some blond highlights to his hair and inspired at least one Chicago area family to name its first son after him -- they call him "Zamy" -- did not allow a hit until David Wright singled with two outs in the Mets fifth.
This is some great writing :?:

and some more
Big Z got Marlon Anderson to strike out swinging, and then lept into the air and danced into the dugout.
and some more
That's probably why he had the cramps. Dancing isn't part of the job description, Carlos.

I was suspicious when he got back to the dugout and started eating pickles with ice cream...

Apparently, Zambrano doesn't like water.
The guy's an even bigger headcase than I thought.

I wanna see Carlos in a padded room w/ Brad Pitt's character in "12 Monkees" and see who pulls something then...

Cramps were apparently located in the cerebellum.

I normally don't waste much time commenting on the Cubs around here, but I found this bit in the Tribune quite funny:
Many Cubs fans saw Wood warming up and gave Howry a standing ovation when he entered, thinking he was Wood. Howry joked afterward that he would have to gain some weight so people wouldn't confuse the two.

Knowing how much we wanted the Brewers to win, Aaron Rowand struck out on purpose so that Milwaukee could move back into first place.

I could only imagine the celebration that would take place on here if the Sox actually brought Rowand back.

For some reason, they neglected to mention the 7 walks.

No ****, including six of them while the no-hitter was still intact. I think he had a no-no going with at least one baserunner every inning, including the fifth when he actually gave up the first hit.

Those were his intensity getting the best of him. He's too intense to control his pitches.

I see a job writing for the Trib in your future!
