The Chicago White Sox (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/clubhouse?team=cha) have traded outfielder Rob Mackowiak (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6725) to the San Diego Padres (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/clubhouse?team=sdg) for a minor-league right-handed pitcher Jon Link.
His stats were a bit rocky in 2006 but he has had some good success this year in single A.

Looks like he was the closer for the Lake Elsinore Storm (http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/clubs/index.jsp?cid=t103).

I just went to the Lake Elsinore website...these guys had Shaun Estes on their roster, a 34 yr old has-been / never-was. Is he on a rehab assignment?

Funny. I didn't notice they had Estes. He must be on a rehad assignment. Only 3 games (started all 3).
Maybe the Padres grabbed him off waivers since they might need some insurance to the SP.

Actually, I think SD signed him before 2006, and he blew out his arm right at the beginning of the season, and he's still trying to come back from that.
