It is July 29 and we have our first, "Can you believe this Cub fans, they could be in first place by this week" story on television (yes, it WAS Channel 9). I hope they crash and burn quickly. I don't know if I can handle 3 months of this crap!:chunks

So the channel that the Cubs are owned by (at least currently) and have been playing on forever is happy that a Chicago team is having success? Confused where is the problem? Not to mention they were like 12 out 6 weeks ago and are now what half a game? Thats pretty impressive.
I'd like to go into a deep slumber, and not come out until after the Flubs are eliminated. This is going to be hell. :whiner:

I am very afraid that it's 1984 all over again:
Sox: big expectations, crash & burn season
Cubs: come from out of nowhere to win their division
I can still hope that San Diego repeats THEIR feats again.

I thought this thread was about all of the "puke" at the White Sox game on Saturday night. Seriously, between the concourse, the mens bathrooms and the ramps down to the bullpen sports bar..we saw at least 4-5 examples of areas where people had puked...and the maintenance guys were spreading that sandy stuff to cover it up.

I am not in Chicago so I don't get it 24/7.
But from afar, I find it funny....it's the same ole Cubs, celebrating the meaningless....tied for first in the loss column in July.
Remember their banner for their "Wild Card Championship."

I am not in Chicago so I don't get it 24/7.I just don't watch the local news or listen to sports radio. Saves me a world of headaches.

"It's gonna happen." Right, the chokejob's gonna happen once again and the Cubbies will hibernate for October.
