View Full Version : Lack of Rumors?

Compared to every other year it seems like a lack of rumors this season. Many baseball people are saying there is so much money being made that we won't see any more big deadline deals. Does anyone think how in past years rumors lead to nothing that this year lack of rumors will lead to alot of quick irrational moves being made?

The money factor would affect teams that are selling off contracts (teams like the Royals and Pirates) - they don't need to anymore.
But that would affect supply (lower it), which should increase what we get. Further, NINE teams are legitimately in the race in the national league. I' don't know why it seems so dead.
I think the buyers are holding out. I heard Olney today and he said that Williams says he wants at least the equivalent of the 2 choices he'd get for keeping Dye....but he said that the GMs don't believe he'll offer arbitration so they think he'll cave. We'll see.
