Sweeney in a big time slump, hope it changes soon.

I bet Mac is recalled soon. I think Heath Phillips has a better chance of being recalled than Aardsma, though!

Might he be in the mix to be the #5 starter in 2008?

Well, at the very least he'll be at spring training. It's a no brainer to put him on the 40 man. I believe even with the year they added in the last collective bargaining agreement, he has to be protected. Once he's invited to spring, one assumes he'll be in the mix.

I was at the game...he didn't look bad. He lined out to first, on a nice play by the Indians' 1B. Then lined one out to left later in the day. Erstad, OTOH, looked terrible. I hope to God he's not called up any time soon (or ever, just dump him)...blegh.

MacDougal looked great. Pounding the strikezone, and finishing them off. Aardsma still looks shaky, though.

And we need to dump Cintron or Uribe. This Bourgeois guy can flat out fly (his single was a slow roller that was fielded by the pitcher...he missed the tag because Bourgeois flew past him), and from what I can tell, can play all over the field (played center today, and didn't look bad).

Apparently he's a super utility guy (I think he's played everywhere but first and catcher). I could see him taking Mack or Cintron's spot next year.

Has allowed only 2 homers this season.

To me, he's had the best year of any pitcher in the organization, DLS included. He's got to be at the front of the line for a September tryout, and if you accept that, then why wait? Better to see him against stronger competition before he runs down from too many innings.

I'm pleased to hear positive reports about MacDougal. The big-league club needs that guy to come back and throw the ball well, both for the rest of this year and for 2008.

Sounds like we have a lot of ML ready pitching.
How about using some for a ML ready CF?
It's going to be hard to get all of those guys starts. Fortunately, the incumbent starters are a lot better than the incumbent outfielders.

Really? Who? McDougal is really all I see. Gio and Egbert should have another year in AA if life was perfect - they are close to ready though judging by their numbers.
