We could use a #3 veteran who would give us ten wins and show younger pitchers how to be tough. He would have been cheap also. Good luch JB.

I also think he'd have given us better than just 10 wins, especially with our hitting.

JB made over 6 mil last season. Who knew that JB wouldn't get any offers above 1.25 mil before the Sox traded him? Anyone?

JB picked the best place to pitch though. Safeco is huge, and JB is known to have bouts with gopheritis. Also, if we had resigned James, we probably wouldn't have gotten Ritchie. I do like Ritchie better (though I think we overpaid by one pitcher). If you really think about it the trade was:

James Baldwin, Kip Wells, Josh Fogg, and Sean Lowe

for

Todd Ritchie, Antonio Osuna, Onan Masakoa, and Jeff Barry

Not sure which side got the better deal
