I don't want to see Juan Uribe anywhere near Comiskey Park after this year...I'm not good at filling out lineups, but defensively I think I'd like to see this:

C AJ
1B Konerko
2B Eckstein
SS Richar (maybe Vizquel...depends on the price)
3B Crede (if healthy)
LF Fields
CF Rowand
RF Sweeney
DH Thome

off the bench: Pods, Ozuna, Owens, Gonzalez

in the pen: Haeger, Logan, Thornton, Jenks, maybe Wasserman

Rotation: Garland, Buerhle, Javy, Danks, Gio/Floyd

for the hell of it, here's a lineup too

1. Eckstein
2. Sweeney/Richar
3. Thome
4. Konerko
5. Rowand
6. Crede
7. AJ
8. Fields
9. Richar/Sweeney

CF Jerry Owens
RF Ryan Sweeney

INF/OF Pablo Ozuna
OF Brian Anderson

Pitching
Buehrle
Garland

Bullpen
Jenks
Thorton
Wasserman
Logan
Floyd
Haeger
Prospect (Carlos Vasquez maybe)

Manager
Joe Giraddi

I can live with this. Girardi would do a good job. And the players and media could understand him.

The thing is, he argued with the owner of the Marlins, is this the norm with him, or an aberration? Reinsdorf is not known for his tolerance of arguing.

The thing is, he argued with the owner of the Marlins, is this the norm with him, or an aberration? Reinsdorf is not known for his tolerance of arguing.

Keep in mind, he inherited a ball club with a $15M payroll after the 05' offseason firesale. That team wasn't supposed to win 60 games.

Instead, he took it to the brink of the playoffs, allegedly had issues with unwillingness to opening up the purse strings to give themselves a shot at the playoffs, and THAT was his issue.

In fact, the Marlins received more than double their payroll in subsidy $. So not only did the owner have a team he didn't have to pay for, he actually profited from the subsidy tax! I think any manager who wants to win would take issue with an owner that won't spend a few bucks at the July deadline in that situation when their team finds itself in the hunt for the wildcard.

Imagine what he might've done with a $100M payroll!!! And for his effort, he gets the NL Manager of the year award and his walking papers.

Loria (Marlins owner) is an *******. That situation wouldn't happen here, and if it did, Uncle Jerry would be lynched.

Well, at least there's some comfort in hearing him say that "everyone knows" the BP is major problem.

I was beginning to question if he realized it, especially when I see HIM put a knuckleballer in for a 9th inning when the team is only down a run and has a last at bat.
