It's really nice to see Javy keep his strong season going. Bobby made it look easy in the 9th too. Let's hope Gavin took some notes.

I'm really proud of what Javy's been doing the past couple of months especially. When a bunch of others have hit the bricks, he has been there and has worked incredibly hard. At least when he takes the mound, I have a certain confidence that this team will at least be in the game if/when it's handed over to the bullpen.

And it's about time this team wins a "see-saw" battle.

Nicely done, Javy!

Good to see Jerry Owens staying hot...

Javy is on point again. This trend of 7+ innings this year is pretty nice.:D:
Josh Fields is heating up, and Konerko regroups nicely. Gavin can make us all smile tonight if he can get the job done.

I'm really starting to like what I see from Jerry Owens and Josh Fields - I think they both can be key players for '08

Jerry Owens is really winning me over, nice 2-4 day today with a double and he stole 2nd on a pitchout with Pudge catching, very impressive. His defense in center seems to be improving very nicely(getting better jumps, knowing where the ball is hit). As long as he doesnt have to throw anyone out at home, hes great!

Raise your hand if you did not cringe in the 9th though and halfway through the 8th before you knew Javy was going to get through it.

If that commercial didn't feature Derek Jeter, I would love it. They should re-make it featuring Jerry Owens haha.

Pods is back and the Sox win, interesting

Pretty big of Vaz to go 8 in a DH, yes the season is over, but I have to give him props for this outing and the year from a 'Vazquez trade hater'

Too bad Floyd is now scheduled for Game 2, would've been cool to sweep it

I must admit, Javy has been pitching very well recently. I was also among the "trade Vazquez" contingent. I thought it was a waste to extend his contract.

He's proving me wrong lately, though. Keep it up, Javy.

Nice game by Owens, too.

Hopefully, Gavin brings his 'A' game tonight. The Sox need to sweep the Tiggers.

I'm acutally looking forward to seeing Gavin out on the bump tonight. He deserves several looks prior to passing judgement.

In addition, in the spirit of throwing roses at the feet of Javy; I for one am tired of hearing about the Chris Young trade. If the recent trend continues for the next couple years; it will prove to be a solid roster manuever. Not to mention we were coming off a world series and reloading for another run not costing us major league ready talent.

I've been a Javy supporter, thought he might just need to stay in one place for awhile. Hopefully that's the case. I've actually enjoyed watching him pitch this year (mostly).

A win!:D:

Note the mistake in the Associated Press account of the game (http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/cs-070724soxgamer,1,5115576.story?coll=cs-home-headlines) on ChicagoSports.com:

Magglio Ordonez's RBI grounder put the White Sox ahead in the first, but Chicago responded with two in the bottom half on Konerko's RBI grounder and A.J. Pierzynski's run-scoring double.

Just got back from the "businessman's special." Javy looked dominant at times, and Thome and Paulie had good at-bats (even though Paulie had two GIDPs). Owens had a legitimate double that went all the way to the wall, and that may be the hardest he's hit the ball all year.

The only downer is that Uribe looked absolutely pathetic at the plate. Clueless.

"Nice curls, Magglio" was heard several times from Section 125.

Really good team win for the Sox this afternoon.

Key extra-base hits for AJ, Fields and Konerko. Flawless defense. Eight effective innings from Vaz, and a 1-2-3 ninth from Jenks.

This victory reminds me of the way we used to play. Good job all the way around.

The Scoreboard Update guys on 670AM will be disappointed. They were getting way too much pleasure referring to our team as the LAST PLACE White Sox.

Fields is starting to get comfortable with big league pitching. He can still look overmatched sometimes when his swing gets too big but he appears to be learning from his mistakes and making some adjustments. He has the potential to be a special player.

if he can learn to jump on more first pitch fastballs and have more of a contact swing with 2 strikes, its scary how good of a hitter he can become. he's already shown me he has a pretty good eye at the plate with 2 strikes.

Lately, I've just been tuning in to the updates to hear if we've made any trades. Once I hear there is no news, the dial is turned somewhere else. It didn't take long for those sports mediot update clowns to infuriate me. They should just read the damn copy and stop interjecting your Cub love into the reports.

Great all around game.

Josh Fields and Jerry Owens are giving me hope for next year and beyond. If they can keep developing, there's great potential in them both.
