SOX Magic Numbers

I wake this morning to the sad realization that the Sox are now firmly tied for last place in the Central(thank god for alphabetical order). Two numbers are very apparent in my head. 20 and 38. 20 more wins gets the Sox 63 and prevents a 100 loss season. 38 more wins get the Sox 81 and prevents the first losing season of the new millennium. 65 games left. So .300 ball prevents 100 losses, .585 ball guarantees a non-losing season.
I'm pretty confident they can avoid losing 100. Not so sure about playing over .500 ball the rest of the way.

Those are some very dismal numbers. I thought playing .500 was an achievable goal this season. It's hard to believe that they might not be able to even do that. This is depressing.

The Sox are bad, but I don't think they're 100 losses bad.

White Sox have to go 67-(-)2 to meet IndianWhiteSox's prediction for this season. :o:

It never occured to me until now that the Sox have to play that well to avoid being under .500. As for being a 100 loss team, with this rotation we should be able to avoid that, even with the bullpen that we have. But personally, with this bullpen, I think reaching the 81 win mark is going to be very difficult, if not impossible.
