Bottom of the 4th, he's already 4-4 with 2 triples, 6 RBI's, 4 runs, and a stolen base. :o:

I'd take him over Jerry Owens right now.

I am resurrecting this thread because Willie is in the midst of a 4-for-4 game with 2 triples and 6 RBIs. This is clearly not a fluke anymore as he's hitting over .330 with 16 stolen bases now well into July. I have to say, after seeing Willie play last year for Pawtucket (Red Sox), I never would've imagined him coming back and hitting leadoff for a decent team.

Oops, I resurrected an old Willie thread to point out the same. Apparently it was moved to What's the Score? But either way I'm pretty shocked by Willie's season thus far.

Another single. 5-5

I picked him up awhile ago because of his splits against RHP:
.335/.398/.432 and that was before tonight's game.

Willie still sucks. By you saying that you'd rather have him over Owens is like saying you'd rather have Day over Sisco. It doesn't matter!

6-6 and a standing O for "Hollywood" Harris.

HAVE A DAY WILLIE!!!

Considering Harris' stats for this season (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6798) though, he's not only having a day today but also quite a year.

I'm happy for Wee-Willie.

I'm happy for Wee-Willie.
I showed him tough love in 2004, but he won me over when I ran into him at the mall in San Diego.

He also scored the most important run in White Sox history IMO.

A big hit in game 4 of the World Series, then the winning run. So, Wee-Willie Harris has that memory and the World Series ring. Now this HUGE game.

Final line:

6-6, 4 R, 6 RBI, 1 SB, 2 T. Two of those RBIs came with two outs.

He raised his average 22 points and tripled his season RBI total. No one in the Braves organization has gotten six hits in a game since 1970.

But if we had kept harris, we wouldn't have traded for and received Cintron and his $1.9 million salary

Exactly what I was wondering. The number of exclamation poitns warranted by this performance boggles the mind.

What a game! Two triples by Willie, seen by the largest crowd in Turner Field's history: 53,948. I went for $25 all-you-can eat, ate four bad hot dogs, one order of nachos, some popcorn, and some peanuts, along with three cokes. The crowds have been larger since the all-you-can-eat deals came out, but in Atlanta there was one major reason for the size of the crowd: NASCAR Night.

Willie was mired in a slump that saw him hovering around .200 for the month of July. Also, Willie went hitless in 5 AB Friday night, not to mention he had stolen only one base since 8 July... so I cut him from my fantasy teams stating in the smack-talk that he had finally crashed to Earth.

I wonder if Willie went 6 for 6 last night just to spite me.

Way to go Pea Pod! :gulp:

She probably passed out when she saw his line in the boxscore.

I'm pretty sure Willie is being platooned right now. Regardless, good for him.

Her profile says no activity in 2 months. No posts in 4.

Talked to her about Willie a few days ago and she was very excited before the 6 hit game (that's Bafia for ya). I figured I'd wait until tonight before sending her a message about Willie, give her a chance to come down off the high.

Don't worry, she hasn't fallen off the face of the Earth. She still is going to many Sox games this summer.

With Matt Diaz, which is working a lot better than Langerhans-Diaz of last year. Both Harris and Diaz, in limited time, are hitting well over .300.

Harris is hitting .339/.403/.844.

Let the haunting begin.
