Don’t expect Dye to switch Sox (http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/sp_bb_rsoxjo19_07-19-07_926E5EH.3548e09.html)

Despite the Red Sox’ heavy interest, it does not appear the team will be able to land outfielder Jermaine Dye from the Chicago White Sox.
According to sources, Dye has told the White Sox that he does not want to go somewhere where he won’t be in the everyday lineup. Dye is a free agent at the end of this season and doesn’t want to diminish his value further by playing irregularly.

Meanwhile, a former White Sox pitcher, reliever Damaso Marte, has moved onto the Red Sox’ radar. Marte, now with the Pittsburgh Pirates, is being coveted in light of the recent struggles by Sox’ lefty specialist Javier Lopez. Lopez is holding lefty hitters to a .220 average, but his overall effectiveness is down, having allowed five runs in his last 12 innings of work. Marte is limiting opposing lefties to just four hits in 45 at-bats (.089) this season.

Theo......put Dye in CF and send Wily Mo Peña anywhere away from Boston. Peña maybe the WORST player I have seen at the MLB level. He can't hit, run or field. Put Coco in RF and lose Drew in Boston Harbor.

Jermain is a solid corner outfielder, but I wouldn't want him playing center in Fenway.

teal? Dye is as slow as Thome nowadays. If we can get Coco Crisp for Dye(just saying) Dye would go to RF and Drew would go to CF. But, the Red Sox will def. not want to deal for Dye, it would just be stupid as who would there leadoff hitter be?

In case you've never watched ESPN or a Red Sox game...

Fenway Park is a little different shape than U.S. Cellular Field.

How about the little bit about Marte?

Man, this guy really has an erratic career.

Dye looked pretty damn good in RF last night. Remember in Boston RF is the cowpasture, not center. Manny's creamed the ball to right center but it died at the 420 mark. CF at Fenway is 379
