Morrissey should have written this whole article should be in teal.

Much anger I sense in this one...

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Why stop there, my friends? The smart money says the Cubs will not lose again this regular season.

I read it as a shot at all the people who are getting way ahead of themselves about this Cub team. Maybe I'm letting the fact that I like Morrissey cloud my judgement. Who knows?

He was being completely, 100% sarcastic. It reads like an article someone here would have written.

Yup. Unless the stupid Brewers get their act together soon the Cub hysteria will reach historic proportions.

I seem to recall reading in his column once that he was not a Cub fan. I haven't read this one yet, but I will. I'm fairly sure from the comments here that he was being sarcastic.

What do you call 2003?

It will get loud around town, but no need to worry. They won't win (or make it to) the World Series, so they can drink all the Old Style they want to drink.

Just keep in mind, everyone, when you are accused of "living in the past" when 2005 is mentioned that Cub fans celebrate playing in a stadium which makes the Roman Coliseum look modern.
