4 singles, 2 doubles, a triple and 2 home runs. based on the ground out I'd say he's ready.

3 straight games Anderson has missed, is he back in jail?

Prior to the game (on 7/7) the Knights placed outfielder Brian Anderson on the disabled list. Anderson had been the teams hot hitter of late, hitting 4 home runs over the last three games. Must've worn his shoulder out hitting all those homeruns.

Maybe he got tired of beating the crap out of everyone else and went after himself? First rule of fight club....:dunno:

Anyone know why Poreda hasn't pitched since the 28th of June? :?:

Great Falls defeated Ogden 9-4
8 run sixth did the trick. (This team has been batting around frequently these days)
Sanchez 2-4 double, triple, 2 runs, rbi .366
Retherford 4-5 triple, run, 2 rbi .324
Persichina 2-5 2 doubles, run, 3 rbi .341
Marrero 2-3, double, run, rbi, bb .366
Gallagher 2-4 rbi .266
Inouye 2-4 rbi .273
Lowe 4.2IP 6H 3R 3ER 1BB 4K

Poreda was skipped his last start as part of a plan to reduce his number of innings according to Great Falls' radio anncr. Time will tell whether that info was accurate or if there is something amiss.

Is that normal for rookies? He threw a total of 9 innings for both starts, so I think thats somewhat odd.

A lot of high-round college pitchers are babied their first year in the pros. Most have pitched over 100 innings already and then had a layoff. For instance, even if Tampa signs Price soon (something that's unlikely) he probably won't pitch at all until instructs.

Sox are probably just being careful. Hope so, anyway.

More info on Poreda according to the Trib: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/cs-070713soxbits,1,7410479.story?coll=cs-whitesox-headlines

Aaron Poreda, the Sox's first pick in the 2007 draft, is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Saturday and stay in the bullpen until he regains full strength. Poreda was clocked at 97 m.p.h. in his last start for Advanced-Rookie Great Falls on June 28 but experienced tenderness in his left arm.*gulp*
