Just a week ago, someone posted on here that the Devil Rays were a better team than the White Sox. :D:

We suck, but damn, we're not as bad as the Devil Rays.

Had this thread started ten days ago, the answer would've been the White Sox and no one would've been able to dispute that. :(:

It's better now. A little.

This is getting ugly now 13-2 after 3

You know you're getting killed when the other team's leadoff hitter has 4 ABs after 3 innings.

Maybe the Devil Rays should bring Canseco in to pitch.

The Nasty Nats haven't exactly looked like world beaters either, but they're probalby no where near as bad as the Devil Dogs.

I still think the Reds and Nationals are worse then the D-Rays, based on mere individual talent prevailing. The Rays have Kazmir, Shields and Crawford having very good seasons.

My wife is in Tampa tonite and she tells me the game is on ION TV. ION is the former PAX TV and is time share tv. The Rays have to buy the time... oof

D-Rays are now on an 11 game losing streak.

D-Rays are now on an 11 game losing streak.

Did that losing streak start with the Sox coming to town? As people have mentioned before Sox came to Tampa, Tampa had a better record than the Sox. No way the Sox have been close to the worst team in baseball this year, however. That honor still has to reside with Cincy and/or Washington.

Tampa ownership concedes "we stink"

BOSTON - Manager Joe Maddon has become a popular target of fan criticism, but executive vice president Andrew Friedman said the entire Devil Rays organization is responsible for the team's recent struggles.

$52 to sit on the lower deck infield? To see the Devil Rays? Insanity.

Wow, $52 for infield box? They are insane to have prices like that. They should cut that by 50% at least.

That being said, the Washington Nationals have to be the worst team in baseball. Robert Fick, Nook Logan, D'angelo Jimenez, the ancient Tony Batista, and Dmitri Young? Yuck! At least the D-Rays field a respectable starting 9 and play in a tougher league.

This year's Reds team has been downright embarrassing this year. People are saying on talk radio how the Reds are now becoming what the Bengals used to be. They are such an enigma. Adam Dunn and Griffey are number 3 and 4 in the majors in home runs respectively, Aaron Harang is putting up another good year (as well as Brandon Phillips) and everything else just flat out sucks. Not just mediocre, I mean, BAD.

They are probably the least talented team in baseball. Young, however, is batting .339, somehow.

What is amazing is how much worse they are from their last Montreal years

Just think of all the players that left...Vidro was good and declined, Vlad got a big contract from Anaheim, Vazquez was traded to the Yankees, and many more. How were they a .500 team two years ago?

Despite being the worst team in MLB this year, I do have a feeling that Washington is going to be very active on the free agent market this coming offseason. Most teams that open new ballparks like to make a big splash to generate interest. They will most likely have to overpay to get some big talent to come there but as long as there is enough zeros on the contract, the players will sign there.

New owners as well right? Or at least soon.

They have new ownership, and Stan Kasten is the former Braves GM who helped build their 1990s run. They have strong value as a franchise, and will get themselves on track.

And yet the Devil Rays won four out of seven games from the Twins this year.

Schuerholz has been GM since 1990 (and the Royals GM 81-90); Kasten was the Atlanta Hawks GM from 1979 (when he was 27) until 1990, as well as the Hawks President from 1986-1990; he became Braves President in 1986.
