Interesting little blurb in Paul Sullivan's story in the Tribune on Wednesday...
"One thing the Sox have missed is the clubhouse presence of James Baldwin, now with Seattle.

Baldwin was the guy Sox players turned to when they needed someone to stick a dead lobster in someone's shoe, or any of his other wacky pranks that broke up the day-to-day monotony of clubhouse living.

Baldwin signed a one-year deal for $1.25 million with incentives that could add another million."

Let's see the Sox couldn't afford a maximum of 2.25 million for a guy who basically has won in double figures every year and who pitched his guts out with a bad arm in the playoffs in 2000 because the Sox had nobody else to turn to. What a laugh! (and what a sad commentary on the state of this franchise...)

But remember IT'S YOUR FAULT!!! LOL LOL LOL

The story goes on to say that Baldwin has not spoken (and won't) to Sox management since his trade in August and will make sure that Ray Durham knows what he (Baldwin) went through with the Sox. Durham is about to be a free agent.
