The Israel Baseball League had it's broadcast debut tonight when PBS showed the Modi'in Miracle at the Petach Tikva Pioneers inaugaural game on a one week delay. PBS is going to show one IBL game per week and I believe they will all be on delays. The first game was greatly entertaining to watch and the crowd of 3,000+ was completely in to the game. I hope this experiment lasts more than a year. Miracle Met first baseman Art Shamsky was manager of the Miracle. The all time leading Jewish pitcher in wins Ken Holtzman managed the Pioneers.

Here is their website, I suggest you check it out. It's some pretty neat stuff, they even have a pretty humorous section with biblical references to sport and baseball.

Abel Moreno was the starter. Didn't have a good game as he was wild. However, he was the Angels 3rd best pitching prospect at one point only a couple years ago; he is pitching in Israel because of visa problems in the US.
