The grand question...

Does Buehrle sign with our Sox, or does he get traded?

I hope both happens ala Sidney Ponson in 2003.

I HOPE he re-signs and that's what I voted for, but truth be told, I have no ****ing clue what the hell is going to happen. I think in the past week we've gone from him being 99% sure he was going to re-sign, to him being dealt to Boston before taking a private plane to Tampa, to again being about to re-sign. Who knows? I sure as hell hope we re-sign him though.

He signs......or I burn my season tickets:angry:

where is the "both" option. 4 years, 50 mil seems low, seems like something is up. I have a feeling they may sign him then trade him unfortunately.

Mark signs.

I want him to sign with the Sox, but I voted trade because that is what I think will happen. :(:

By the way, there is no way the Sox will sign him and then trade him. If Mark signs now for what would be a hometown discount, there is NO WAY he'll do that without having a no trade clause included. He and his agent would be pretty stupid if they give up free agency because of his desire to stay with the Sox only to give the Sox the ability to trade him away to wherever they please.

Also, forget about the "Sidney Ponson" scenario. If we trade Mark now, he'll have to hit the open market for us to negotiate with him again. Once that happens, the Sox are going to get blown away by offers from other teams.

I think he'll re-sign. Can't be sure, of course, but it's looked that way to me since last summer. I mean, c'mon -- both sides want it to happen. It would be deeply sad for everybody if there was some reason that it didn't.
