Accordingly, Baseball Prospectus gives the 2005 world champs only a 0.013% chance of making the postseason.

He also mistakenly reports that Aaron Cunningham is still in the system. He was traded a couple of weeks or so ago for a second baseman.

Not surprisingly, Buehrle figures to be the Sox's best bargaining chit

chit
1.a signed note for money owed for food, drink, etc.
2.any receipt, voucher, or similar document, esp. of an informal nature.

Chit works.

Ok. 0.013% chance is, what? Off by a bit?

What chance do YOU give them? More than 0.013%?

If so, you're nuts.

I hate Dayn Perry as much as the next man, but are people really upset that he put the White Sox chances that low. To me they have a 0% chance of making the playoffs.

People are upset because Dayn Perry is a hack.

the 0.0013% wasn't him he was just quoting baseball prospectus. I don't really argue with that number at this point though. Some major changes need to accure before anyone can think we have a better shot.

I think the stupider thing about this 0.013% thing is what he says in the next sentence:

Do you need more damning evidence?

It like the actually stats and standings and pathetic play of the team can't quite be trusted until you pull out some stupid propellerhead statistic to back them up. Anyone with half a brain can tell that the Sox have stunk this year and aren't in any race, but he'll only believe it if computer simulations also tell him so.

I agree, if the Sox make the playoffs this year I would call it the greatest accomplishment in Chicago sports history.

Whoa. I'm not saying the Sox have a chance to make the playoffs.
I just hate Perry, just more Sox hate from him.

And, to quote BP is proves more that he is a tool.
