When you think Phil Rogers can't get worse...

Funny, I don't remember him predicting our offense would be hitting .230 something at the end of June, which he never says he predicted, but probably the most significant reason the Sox are in their current position.

Yes, left, center, and shortstop weren't exactly addressed, but when 1st base, right field, 2nd base, and 3rd base all have their worst career years (and not just marginally worst), that would create a problem.

Complaining about not offering Mags arbitration to get draft picks: It was the right move. The Sox won the World Series. I can barely believe I read that paragraph.

We gave up Gload for Sisco. We would be a much better team with Gload right now.

Hindsight is 20/20. You can't pick apart the bad deals, and not mention the good moves that led to a World Series Title! You don't think the Cubs and Cubs fans would trade a 1 decade of losing for one championship? I hate hindsight articles!

It's said a rolling stone gathers no moss. If that's true Phil should be pretty clean as it's been all downhill for him since about December.

ignore the moron. Don't read anything in that crap paper. Simple enough.

I didn't read it. I'm depressed enough without getting angry as well.

Rogers lost me with his "despicable" crack about the McCarthy trade some months ago. To his credit he posted on here to defend his argument, but I wasn't convinced.

That paper is still part of the Cubs corporation. George Knue's, Rick Morrissey's, and Phil Rogers' protests notwithstanding, there's not a whole lot of credibility there as long as their 401(k) plans and whatever other corporate benefits they enjoy derive partly from the marketing synergy that their executives have decreed.

The White Sox are bad, real bad right now. We know that. Let the Tribune continue its endless maypole dance around the Cubs while we lick our wounds and prepare for the re-arming of our team.

The column prompted WEEI to call Phil and put him on the air

WEEI - Dale and Holley - Phil Rogers, Chicago Tribune (http://weei.podzinger.com/viewMedia.jsp?feed=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.weei.podzing er.com%2Ffeed%2FDaleAndHolley.xml&feedid=3588&start=0&num=10&col=en-all-pod_weei-ep&filter=1&itemurl=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.weei.podzinger.com%2Far chive%2FDaleAndHolley%2F2007-06-25_Phil_Rogers_Chicago_Tribune.mp3&il=en&index=1)

I'd rather see Gload than Mackowiak, Terrero, or Gonzalez.
