Looks like the Cubs are going to move him in the next few days. Three teams are interested, including the the Sox. Kenny, Kenny????????? :o:

I can't wait to see the bat flip with all the homeruns he will hit at the cell.

Joque Jones?
Is today April Fools or something?
I thought we were looking to deal our Joque Jones', not looking to add more.

Don't we already have a free swinging corner-OF who isn't very good defensively in Mackowiak?

The last thing this team needs is a Cubs retread.

First an Adam Dunn rumor, now Jackee' Jones. Does the cruelty ever stop??!!!

If that is the best we can get for Dye, keep him and take the draft picks....

I wouldn't trade a dollar dog for Jones.

I would however take Izturis if they were giving him away... he obviously is not the answer to all that ailes us; but Cesar is much more servicable than Uribe's freeswing, krispie kreme swallowing, arse. And if KW makes some moves to plug some other holes this offseason I could be content with him as our opening day starter.

Comparing Adam Dunn, a guy who has had an OPS over 925 3 of the last 4 years (counting this year) with Jacque Jones is like comparing a Kosher dog fresh off the grill with a day old Wrigley hot dog. I'd love Dunn for the right price. Jones...not so much.

Never in a million years. An ex-twin and ex-cub? I'll stop watching til he's gone.

Ryan Sweeney is a much better option if Dye has to go to the DL.

Ohhh...I can't wait until he flips his bat on a double into the gap for the Sox!!

Why would we need Jones? The only team he's any good against is the White Sox.

I would have liked this move over a month and a half ago when we simply needed offense and our team wasn't totally out of it, but now it's pointless. Picking up JJ would be a terrible move and a giant step backwards when we could be giving a corner OF spot to Sweeney right now. If KW gets Jacque now I will write him an angry letter and seriously question his ninjatude.

Jacque Jones = Robbie Alomar 2004.

Utter nonsense.

Robbie Alomar or Sandy 2007?

Robbie Alomar or Sandy 2007?

If we acquire Jones, I would compare it to KW's second acquisition of Robbie in late 2004. A desperate attempt by a GM who did not want to admit that his team was out of it.

It sounds to me like Dye is going to the DL. Now would be a good time to find out whether Sweeney is a long-term answer at one of the corner OFs.

The one thing I would note here is that he's just not "Cub material."
Say what you will, but I don't think his time on the North Side has done him well... not sure there's anyone else in baseball that would benefit more from a change of scenery.
Not to say I want him on the club, but I don't think his numbers with the Cubs do him justice.

Jacque Jones = Robbie Alomar 2004.

I disagree.

Alomar 2004 wasn't worth anything either, but at least he'd once been a great player. Jones at best was a borderline starter.
