Cubs center fielder Tuffy Rhodes, who had hit five homers in his career, hit three in three swings against the Mets' Dwight Gooden, who had allowed three homers in a game only three times in his 10-year career. Tuffy finished with eight homers that season, 13 for his career.

I remember that game... giddy Cub fans were calling the Score predicting that Rhodes would hit 40 homers that year. I thought Mike Murphy would have a heart attack on the air.

Ah, Tuffy Rhodes. That's a name that brings back fond memories...not.
