El Caballo coming full speed tried to slide to avoid the collision hit him in the shin. Youch!

He's still lucky - Everett would have really gotten messed up if massive Lee hit him full force.

Kind of reminds me of Ozzie's injury back in the day.

Shades of Ozzie and Tim Raines.

Or Cintron?

Sounds like they have a pretty solid platoon to step up.

Manager Phil Garner said Bruntlett will share the playing time at short with Mark Loretta.
Bruntlett, 29, was hitting .279 (63-for-226) with 10 doubles, four triples, one homer and 21 RBIs over 60 games for the Express at the time of his recall. He was recently named offensive player of the month for May after hitting .362 with nine RBIs.

If Mark Loretta doesn't start at SS the rest of the year, or at least play every day, there's going to be a lot of upset Astros fans. The guy can flat out hit. Eric Bruntlett is more in the Everett mold of good defense & speed but mediocre MLB hitting.
