okay i know this is WAY out there but......if Todd Ritchie can somehow(and oh boy i mean oh boy) prove me wrong and go out and have a strong season....the sox can or will win it all! Hes the key. My brain says he will go 10-12 with a 4.98 era but who knows! HE IS THE KEY.....in my opinion....my heart? He needs to go 17-9 with a 3.41 era or around there......

My gut says the latter is correct. And I got a damn fine gut. :)

ohhh id love for you to be corect cuz we really really really need him. I think Buehrle and Garland will be solid. We need a veteran to lead us....

If the situation in the bullpen sorts itself out (which it seems like it's slowly doing) that will help even more than Ritchie being solid. A good 'pen will make up for a mediocre rotation.

If Ritchie goes 17-9, we will be golden. But he doesn't have to. If any two of Garland, Parque, Rauch and Wright have solid years (i.e., 10-15 wins, ERA in the 4.5 range or lower and 150+ IP), Ritchie can go 15-10 or so and we'll be in good shape. With this offense, the Sox just need starting pitchers who can give them 6 or so innings with 4 or so runs, and we're looking at 85-90 wins, which should at least get us into the post season.

BMR, this is out there but you can quote me on it,
Frank Thomas will win the AL triple crown, but come in 2nd in the MVP voting to Mags, since Frank is a DH. Burhle will win 20 games, while AL rookie of the year Jon Rauch wins 15 with over 200Ks. Sox win the Central by 20 games and clinch in August.

If someone actually wins the triple crown, they will be MVP no matter what position they play. Maggs would have to do some pretty amazing things to win MVP if Thomas wins the triple crown.

Mags becomes a 30 30 guy, and gets 200 hits. Plus goes on the there in July and August to help clinch the div. Franks puts up alot of number in Sept.

But that would mean that Frank would have hit over .400, because he has the Triple Crown, remember?

Yup. If we lost today the fire Jerry & Nardi tags would be in every post. We won so we're on our way to 162-0! :D: I love when the games count!
