What kind of an idiot would sit in front of their TV and video tape it?

Maybe he thought the first baseman didn't have enough infield practice?

Playing SS in softball once, I made a great diving grab and flipped the ball to second for the double play.

Unfortunately, the bases were empty, and I put a runner on first.

Wow.... what was the reaction, Fenway? Was it "funny" or did people take it as "lazy". Was the pitcher hurt or something?

pretty much laughter all around.

as the NY Daily News pointed out today

And the anxiety level here is so low that on one big sports talk radio show's "whiner line," people are leaving messages to complain that there's nothing to complain about.

They probably thought it was a funny play, rewound their DVR, and taped it.

Ya, but you can throw the game on the PC since it is on a DVR. Seems like a waste of time.

This is an off topic question but what is the connection between the song Sweet Caroline and the Red Sox? I have been curious since it was used in Fever Pitch.

I remember Tavarez doing that when he played for the Cubs.

NPR's Morning Edition wondered the same thing and did a report on it a couple of years ago.

Morning Edition (http://www.npr.org/templates/rundowns/rundown.php?prgId=3), September 30, 2005 As a stadium anthem, it's not exactly "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." Susan Orlean visits Boston's Fenway Park to unlock the secret connection between the Red Sox, their loyal fans and singer Neil Diamond's 1969 hit.

I have a DVR and have no idea how to do that, as I would guess most people wouldn't have a clue.

He did it for a reason.

I have a friend who works at You Tube and he says because MLB does not want any clips on the server, You Tube downloads every game to get a digital fingerprint. If someone uploads a clip from a game the server usually catches it within a couple of hours.

However taping a monitor creates a different fingerprint and it wil show up until somebody flags the video.
