According to the Score for the past 2 hours Jim Hendry, Sweet Lou and Mcdonough (sp) have had a closed door meeting. Usually the first guy at the stadium is Barrett today roughly 40 minutes to game time he is no where to be seen. Currently there is a players only meeting. Something appears to be brewing.

What are they going to do, insert Henry Blanco in there? :?:

This makes no sense, whatsoever.

My opinion has always been that for my catcher I want him to be good defensively behind the plate and call a good game. Any offense is a bonus. Barrett is quite the opposite. Now true Prior and Wood constantly being hurt has something to do with my next point, I may be wrong but weren't Cub pitchers more consistent and down right better when guys Damien Miller were behind the plate opposed to Barrett?

I don't like Barrett as a person or player, in any way, but Henry Blanco isn't a starting catcher. I think the bigger problem is the guys that are throwing the ball.

Who? It would have to be Hendry. Mcdonough just took over and Lou's ego is too big to walk away already. 300 million dollars and lacking results definately causes hysteria. Maybe Jim and Cashman could do lunch tommorow?:D:

Like I said they were speculating that pinella was resigning and that they were talking him out of it. You know its not a story unless it is sensational:gulp:

Sorry I didnt say pinella earlier my bad.

I would be really upset if Sweet Lou walked away. He is one of my favorite baseball guys to the point where I watch the Cubs and actually hope they find success.

Barrett probably has the flu or something. Most likely the Score overreacting again.

Don't like him, wouldn't mind him traded away from the city, but hope he's physically okay.

It'd be hilarious if it was steroids though

Maybe Barrett figured there wasn't any point in showing up to the games anymore.

Or maybe Lou finally figured out that he's better with Blanco behind the plate and Barrett threw a hissy fit?

Sorry to disappoint, guys.

Extra bases: Barrett was not in the lineup Wednesday. "I'm just giving him a day off," Piniella said. Thursday also is an off-day. ...

Cubs losing 9-0 in the ninth. Maybe they should call timeout, retreat to the clubhouse and hold another closed-door meeting.

Marquis & Lilly returning to their "normal" numbers as Lilly gave up 5 ER today and Marquis gave up 4 ER in 5IP yesterday.

Probably not steroids. He had no power behind that punch.

They were also speculating on the Score that a resignment was in the air. What's a "resignment?" Do you mean a reassignment or a resignation?

"Therefore I will resign the office of catcher of the Chicago Cubs, effective noon tomorrow..."

Per WSCR in Chicago. Apparently Lou has been locked in a room with Hendry and McDonnough for 2 hours. Additionally, nobody has seen Michael Barrett (after that stellar baserunning performance from last night). The look on his face during the post game press conference last night was not good....the press almost seemed nervous about asking him anything.

Mount Pinella may be about to erupt.

Scott Podsednik took him down with an Armbar. AN ARMBAR!

Goes to show you Mr. MMA has no strength.
