Ry and I already booked our flights to and from Kansas City for the late June/early July series. We'll be at the games on the 30th of June and 1st of July.

Where should we stay that's reasonably priced and near downtown? I'm not staying at the Westin, since it costs way too much.

Is this just for full or is it also for 27-game plan holders?

I'd imagine this isn't for 27-gamers. I didn't get the email either, and I know Mike has a 27-game plan as well. I guess only full plans got this offer.

Hotwire.......Country Club Plaza has a 3 star hotel for $65 bucks (post fees and taxes is probably under $85.....A 3.5 star for $95 pre-tax/fees).

Im a 27-game holder, and I don't know if I got it, because it would be on my work e-mail account that I can't access until tomorrow. Do you know how much it costs and what the two hotel options are?

I have been running a road trip for my friends for the past 11 years and we will be at Friday and Saturdays game. We have 22 guys going and are staying at the Sheraton Suites Country club plaza --- 770 W 47th street. I spoke to a girl at the KC group ticket office and she said this was a good hotel and location. We are sitting in sec left field 145 which is the section that looks down on the Sox bullpen.

This road trip kind of reminds me of the visiting support at soccer matches in the UK. It's too bad that away games are SO far away in the States. It would be fun to be able to make a series of short trips each year, but even Cleveland and Detroit are a bit of a haul. When I hit the lotto, I'll organize a WSI summer tour:tongue:

Not really an insane time to leave when you are trying to get to the game that night. I left around that time to get to Cleveland for a 1:05 game.

Has there been a new calendar issued that I'm not aware of? :?: June 31?! Anyone else catch this? Did the Sox issue this e-mail? If so, someone over at 333 W. 35th St. better check his/her calendar again!

THis is a really cool idea, but I have plenty of road trips planned this year. I think it would be cheaper to do this on your own than with the White Sox.

Way cheaper. I'm staying at the InterCon and after taxes/fees it's $110/night.

Right, but it is still a really cool idea. Hopefully the Sox do some more things like this.

And who's gonna pick one up at 2am.

People always have problems with one thing or another.

Is is safe to take the L? sure why not. I imagine you would leave the car at the park. As for the arrival time, you will be on a bus. I am sure you could sleep on the way back. If you cant get off that Monday that is not the Sox problem. There will be a 110 people who can get the day off.

Did some math on aol travel

flight $212 arrive 10am sat leave sun night arrive 8pm
with hotel at Hyatt $302
2 tickets to game $64 best seats
total $366 per person.

if one person would go, in my case its cheaper to book yourself
better than paying $400 bucks

if you went with 2 or 3 people its a decent package.

If you took megabus and left Friday night at midnight, its $23 roundtrip. You could easily get a 3 star room on priceline for $65. If you with somebody, thats a little more than $50 a piece.

In a way, it sure would be a fun trip.
Hopefully, the Sox start playing up to their potential.
Tough game loss yesterday.
Oh yea, I did get the email.
