Looks like Paulo has a nice little hit streak going.

Anyone have some info on him besides his blazing speed? Is he possibly a future starter down the line, or does he look like just another Joey Gathright?

I'm not sure if Anderson's injury has anything to do with why he's DHing tonight, but apparently he felt obliged to hit an opposite field 2-run dinger. Which was cancelled out by his strikeout. Sweeney was on base (for the homerun) because he doubled.

12 K's for Gio in 6 innings.

10 starts
4-3, 3.25 ERA
52.2 innings
46 hits
19 walks
74 strikeouts

If you took away his one bad start, his ERA would be 2.01. Unfortunately that can't happen.

Gio is going to be a top flight starter. His K/walk rate is ridiculous.

Here's some nice recognition for Gio from Baseball America's prospects blog:

Sounds nasty good for the Sox. Just think, in a couple of years the White Sox could have three lefties starting with Buehlre, Danks and Gonzalez. Possibly Garland and Masset to round that rotation out. Maybe Haeger and maybe maybe Floyd.

I'm officailly counting out Haeger and Floyd. I just don't see it. I think Adam Russell has a better shot.

Personally, I'd like to see both Buehrle and Garland stay here as long as possible, with Danks and Gonzalez in the mix.

I don't share your optimism about Mark coming back. I wouldn't be surprised if Gio is next year's Danks. Then we'd have:
Garland, Contreras, Vazquez, Danks, Gio.

Floyd hasn't thrown a single major league pitch for the Sox, and has only six weeks into the season at Charlotte. So I'm not giving up on him yet. Thanks to Danks, we have the luxury of seeing if Floyd can get things sorted out this year at AAA.

Haegar - who knows? He looked good at the end of last year, but now he's struggling in AAA. But, I'm not closing the book on him yet.
