Well, I like the way Kenny's talking. Reading his quotes about drafting championship players reminds me of John Paxon's approach to the NBA draft. I also like how Kenny isn't ducking responsibility for the draft and acknowledges it as an area the organization needs to improve. Let's hope this new determination pays dividends down the road.

Baseball America magazine projects on its Web site the Sox will select right-handed pitcher/outfielder Michael Main of DeLand, Fla., with their first pick. Main had a 12-1 record and struck out 10 in a 6A state semifinal game Friday.

Could this be better suited for the Minor Observations section?

A good fastball, smart kid, can play D, and can hit? I like it.

Its funny how the scouting reports on the guys we have drafted early have been coming to fruition- McCollough, Ring and Broadway in particular who's big knock is that they don't have the "stuff" to translate into being a frontline starter - And when you are picking early like that - That should be the goal.

I'm just glad its televised... most of us don't see anything on these kids til spring training and only a few innings here and there then... maybe televising the draft we'll see clips of the draftees in action or something?
