Did anyone else hear that the Sunday Cubs game at the Cell is going to be a night game?

I have only heard rumors. Based on all the schedules I have seen, it's still TBD. But a night game would be sweet.

I heard them say something on Sunday during the game. I still have to hear anything official.

That would make sense (teal implied by the following juxtaposition). Play a Friday afternoon game and a Sunday night game in the same series.

If I had tickets to the game and it was being moved to Sunday night, when I would have to return to work Monday morning -- heck, I might even have a flight out of Chicago scheduled for 8:30 p.m. -- I would be upset.

I thought we didn't have night games in this series because people can't be trusted to hold their liquor? And after last night, I think that's a good idea. I think it's a disaster waiting to happen. I know people get hammered at afternoon games too but I'm sure most cub fans coming to those games will be starting at like noon. Glad I'm not going to that one.

Don't be silly. The Sox fans will be on the wagon also.

I only singled out cub fans because unlike us, they have more bars to go to before the games.

Sounds like ESPN would be doing it.

My brother said he heard Farmer say that it was being picked up by Sunday Night Baseball

That would probably overrule any local city laws or "suggestions" or what have you...

And pass up a Yankees-Giants or a Boston-Padres game? That's just bad for baseball.

www.whitesox.com (http://www.whitesox.com) is the only place to go for an answer. The answer is "TBD."

An email will come out from the White Sox to ST holders when the time is set.

yankees are almost up on there 5 alloted slots on Sunday night baseball. they would have 1 more appearance after there game on the 17th, i dont think espn would want to waste it up this early in the season. and boston has 2 more appearances after the yankees game on june3rd. the redsox-white at the end of august is tentivly scheduled for sunday night baseball as it is tbd

ever since I saw "TBD" for the game time, that always led me to believe it would eventually be the Sunday night game.

No reason to ban you. However, if it becomes official we play them under the Silver Moon, post in the WSI Ticket Exchange your request for tix. That is where people who are looking to unload tickets head.

I, for one, am really hoping for the 7pm start. The 12:05 on Saturday is gonna kill me enough after Friday night. I really don't need a subsequent 1:05 start.

Which reminds me, bring back the 2:05 Sunday starts! :D:

2:05pm starts on Sunday was amazing. Why they don't still do them is beyond me. I also enjoyed the 7:35pm Friday starts.

I would be shocked if the Sox/Cubs Sunday game was a night game. I would even think about trying to get tickets for that one if it is. There's something about Sunday night games that I like...

This totally sucks. I hate NIGHT Cubs/Sox games. Thanks God I live 4 blocks from the stadium. Did you know that ONLY at this series at the Cell do they have police on horses on 35/Sheilds.

I way prefer 1:05 starts. Takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get home, and still arrive in time for normal dinner hour. I guess proximity to the stadium dictates everyone's favorite start time.

Because when they were at 2:05 everybody wanted them moved back to 1:05. IIRC there was a short e-mail survey or some such about game time starts..... Not saying that's the only reason they changed it back, but I'm sure it played a role.

Those little pocket schedules for the Sox have had that sunday game vs the Cubs down as TBD, suggesting that possibility from the get-go.

FYI... ESPN has until June 8 to determine whether they want to broadcast it as an evening game. If they opt not to, it'll be a 1:05 start.

Friday 7:35 was awesome. The extra 30 minutes for tailgating is great.

The only scheduled night game that day is Astros-Rangers at 7:35, but that's just night because it's in Texas, we're the only TBD game. That tells me that there's probably a very good chance that we're the Sunday night game, I'd have to guess the only reason they haven't announced it yet is that maybe the city or the team is fighting it?
