At 5:00 PM CDT the satellite that covers the eastern US is down. This satellite also feeds the repeater network that provides enhanced coverage in large cities. Unless they get this fixed, if you want to listen to the game tonight you are going need to point your antenna toward the working satellite in the southwest sky.

I live on the Southwest corner of the U.S. and my radio was fading in and out of getting a feed earlier today.

Basically it was barely working.

My wife said the same thing was happening to her. I thought it was due to the fact that I haven't paid them in some months now.

Ditto. I thought for a split second about calling and complaining, but didnt feel like sitting on hold for 30 or 40 minutes.

I also had problems with my XM around 4:30p, but just figured I was in a bad area or something. Thanks for the info., jfinsocal!

Thanks for the info, that clears up the mystery of why my XM says "No signal" and has for a couple of hours.

I thought it was the high winds making the tree branches get in the way. Thanks.

There's some good information posted at XM411.

This is a pretty major malfunction and hopefully the technical folks can get this worked out in the next day or two.

no signal at all from Yankee Stadium to our hotel in Ft Lee hopefully this is a ground error because it hard to send a tech up 25000 miles

It was happening to me on the way home from work yesterday and on the way to work this morning. I thought it was my problem. It is kind of a relief to know that others had this.

For what it's worth, XM is claiming they should be fixed midday today http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070522/xm_outage.html?.v=7

"Company officials initially expected to correct the problem Monday evening, but are now advising customers that they expect a fix by midday Tuesday."

I had the same problem yesterday, and this morning. I was northbound on I55 and in the clear. The signal was fading in and out like I was in heavy tree cover.

Glad to know it wasn't my receiver. I was worried there for a little bit. The thought of going back to commercial radio for music had my pulse rate up, and not in a good way.

It was a little shaky this afternoon, too, but it was better than yesterday.

Thanks for the info.

I was beating the living daylights out of the dashboard yesterday afternoon, trying to figure out why XM was fading in and out. I wholeheartedly agree with those who are glad it was a satellite issue and not a receiver one. As of this afternoon, all seems working again.
