May 22, 1977 - Richie Zisk becomes only the second Sox player in franchise history to hit a home run into the center field bleachers at Comiskey Park. He joined Dick Allen (1972) as the only Sox players to ever accomplish it. Ziskís blast off the Tigers Dave Rozema in the 8th inning didnít help the Sox win however. They got beat 14 - 3!

I don't remember that one, but I seem to recall going to a doubleheader against the Blue Jays in 1985 in which George Bell launched one into the CF bleachers off of the immortal Dave Wehrmeister...

Wow, 30 years ago today. I can't believe that much time has gone by.

I'll add another memorable game on this date, albeit very recent Sox history, still history: Last year, The Big Hurt's first day back, getting his much-deserved welcome, hitting two homers, but ultimately the Sox winning one of the most exciting games of the year.

I was at that game. Turned me into a HUGE Zisk fan (I was only 8) to the point that when he went to Texas I VERY BRIEFLY became a Rangers fan.
