Good decision to start Masset today compared to Floyd, as some suggested.

Josh Fields is really heating up. Good to see, especially if Crede ends up being out for a while.

Floyd may just have been a salary dump. Anybody following his starts closely?

I think Kenny watched film from his days leading up to the amateur draft - b/c he has been crap for a while now.

Gio, OTOH, was a fantasic re-aquisition, obviously. Talk about a guy with a high ceiling...:o:

Floyd actually looked really good. He only gave up 2 runs, before they pulled him with 2 runners on. I think they had him on a pitch count around 80, because of his blisters or whatever he's been experiencing. Floyd was PISSED that he didn't get the chance to get out of the jam, which is nice to see.

Babula was horrendous. He allowed the 2 inherited runners to score + 2 of his own, and kept blowing easy defensive plays. It looked like the Tigers in the WS. I thought that Rogowski was going to strangle him. It got to the point where a batter would square around to bunt, and Fields and Rogo would sprint in and try box out to prevent Babula from touching the ball. Very ugly game. At one point, Timo Perez hit a drive into the gap. TWPITU cut it off and threw a bullet right on the money to 2B. Perez would have been out by 10 feet . . . but Gonzalez dropped the ball.

OTOH, Owens made 2 outstanding diving grabs. On one, he ran from LF deep into foul territory and made a diving grab on the track. Very impressive and ballsy play.

Jerry Owens should be on the Sox bench now.
