ESPN confirmed rumors last night that it is planning to broadcast the Rocket's Class-A start with Tampa on Friday night, though the decision was not yet official late last night.

This is beyond ridiculous, even for ESPN standards.

I'm really going to enjoy him being a .500 pitcher with a 5.00 ERA and the Yankees not making the playoffs.

No, they don't, because we all know that statement is simply not true. Clemens is an extremely popular player who just chose one extremely popular team over another extremely popular team. ESPN would be stupid not to cash in, even if the results are annoying to the indifferent among us.

I'd rather watch Bonds. Triple A return start? Gross. I guess if nothing else is on though, it beats women's pool.

Actually, there's a subway series game that night. Couldn't they just show that and have updates from the minor league start?

If he gives up 5 runs in the First, will ESPN suddenly go to a test pattern because of "techincal difficulties" and "please standy by?":gulp:

Or they'll throw up a still picture of tarp covering some field and tell us the game has been postponed due to heavy rain.

What I would really like to see ESPN do is have a "Minor League Game of the Week" and showcase future stars.

NESN televises about 15 minor league games ( all in HD ) a year split between Pawtucket, Portland and Lowell.

WOW Scoop Jackson on espn.com unloads on Roger ( about time somebody did )

He's a self-absorbed, beyond-arrogant, bigger-than-the-game, I-have-no-respect-or-honor-for-the-concept-of-team, I-only-pitch-when-I-feel-like-it, any-team-should-feel-blessed-to-have-me, Randy-Johnson-will-never-be-on-my-level, the-world-revolves-around-me, kiss-the-ground-I walk-on, worship-who-I-am-because-I-am-the-me-myself-and-I-in-MLB pimp.
But again, my problem is not with Roger, it's with us. The media cowards. Because all of us, for too long now, have looked past all of this and validated what I've said my whole life: "Pimpin' ain't easy, the media is just scared."

The hired gun slingers of the old west would be proud of Clemens.
