Roger "it's not about the money" Clemens gave an interview to the NY Post

I'm not gonna talk about retirement anymore. It's just not working (chuckles). I'm failing miserably at retirement.

Q: Maybe you'll pitch until you're 50. A: The new stadium is around the corner. That sure would be fun to open (it) up (in 2009). I'll be part of it; I don't know if I'll be an active part of it.

Since Clemens is the most important person in the history of baseball, I'm sure the Yankees won't mind pushing their home opener until the end of May.

The Clemans saga is getting as bad or worse than presidential politics.

Roger hints that (if some team is dumb enough to give him 30 million) he'll play in 2009.

Gotta love how he plays for the love of the game and not the money.

But the 20 million dollars this year sure helps.

But it isn't about the money

"If you think itís about money, youíre greatly mistaken. Iím not going to put my body through the paces I put my body through to earn a few more dollars,íí Clemens said at a charity golf tournament

I know its a huge longshot and probably stupid to suggest, but I'd love it if he hung around long enough to win 400 games!

I think it would be pretty cool if someone did it in this era where every time somebody wins their 300th, the "experts" wax poetically on how there may never be another 300 game winner.

He'd have to stop this begin-the-season-in-June nonsense, though.

I've never had a big problem with Clemens. He's a jerk, but he's never been an Indian, a Twin, a Tiger, a Royal, or a Cub. I may be in the minority, but I've never had a big problem with Bonds either.

To me a baseball jerk is a baseball jerk. No matter who you play for. You can play for my favorite team but if you're an absolute tool, like Clemens or Bonds, then there is no way I can support you.

Clemens was my idol growing up. Watching him I learned how to pitch and thus made me very good until a bike riding accident destroyed my arm.
