I think I'll bust out the Wilbur Wood jersey, 1972 style.

I'll be there but I wont be wearing anything 70s. I think I saw that this was one of the Miller Lite hat giveaway nights. Does anyone know if the Sox will be wearing 70s inspired uniforms or if the giveaway hats will be styled like any of the hats the Sox wore in the 70s.

I'm trying to sell my single ticket for that game, as I'll be in Canada visiting my SCF. It's too bad they selected that date for the 70's night, as that's my second favorite decade of music.

It would be great if some people could honor the late Brad Delp that night.

but the SNF years were the worst part of the 70's.
The 70-76 years were the best.
Then disco came along and music fell apart.

I cant wait for the White Sox to ban all these fun nights and days. No real fan would ever bring their dog or dress up in 70's garb or dress as Elvis for a baseball game. First though they have to work on the banishment of the wave!!!!!:gulp:

I wouldn't agree with that at all. There were tons of good bands who either formed in the 70's or found fame in the 70's.
A few I love off the top of my head:
Boston
Thin Lizzy
AC/DC
The Angels (aka Angel City)
Alice Cooper

There's great music from every decade and crap from every decade.

I'm pretty sure Alice Cooper's "Eighteen" came out in the sixties...I'll give you AC/DC as well, but the rest of the bands I could do without. It's all a matter of personal opinion, of course.

I'll be there tonight with and old friend of mine. No costume though; my nod to the '70s was a really bad haircut and an 8-track player in my car.

Just couldn't get those sequined pants to fasten.

I was disappointed they didn't surprise us by pulling out the 1977 pajama unis.

The giveaway hats were cool except for the sponsor logo on the back. I remember what I love about those '76-'81 hats. It's the simplest thing...the white button on the top.

I was very dissapointed in the fan participation! I was probally 1 of only about 10 people to dress up. Well I guess all that matters is that we won and some nice gentleman gave us his seats which ended up being 8 rows off the field first base side! He gave us the tickets since he said he had club seats.

Yep, "I'm Eighteen" was from their Warner Bros. debut LP LOVE IT TO DEATH, released in early 1971. Prior to that, the group recorded two albums for Frank Zappa's Straight Records label (PRETTIES FOR YOU in 1969 and EASY ACTION in 1970). These were briefly available on CD in 1989 (issued by Enigma Retro) and I have copies of both. Some really bizarre stuff here (especially on the first one!) but interesting listening nonetheless.

Really? Haha...too bad, I guess I can see why though. They should have gone out there then in the red ones from 1972. I remember hearing Konerko say a long time ago that he thought the '77 unis were the ugliest ever...I personally think that nothing is as ugly as all orange Baltimore uni.

I can definitely understand them not wanting to wear the shorts but the jerseys for a day wouldn't have been a big deal, I don't think.
