Is it me, or does Chris Rongey sound like Kevin Bacon in "Animal House" when the Sox are losing? "All is well!!! ALL IS WELL!!!"

Rongey the Ranger.

I'm not sure about Kevin Bacon, but I like Rongey's work.

And here I thought we would never be able to bear it after Dave Wills left.

A few posters around these parts are that exact same way.

Wills will never be replaced, but Rongey's got my vote. He's fun to listen to.

I love Chris Rongey! Sometimes he can be a little too positive, but he's cool. I liked hearing him do score board updates. It was pretty funny.

Rongey's gotten better at cutting off bad calls - last year, he'd get into big, long discussions with drunk Cubs fans or other trolls, and he is much better about cutting them off and moving on.

He's still not as good as Wills at that (I miss hearing Wills call guys "drill rods", personally), but he does a fine job.

Anyone hear Rongey's Suzyn Waldman impersonation last night?

Classic.

For those who do not know, she's the Yankees announcer who went ape **** about Clemens being in Steinbrenner's box and making the announcement he was coming back.

I loved it when he hung up on people. The Ranger should learn to do the same.

Could someone please explain his nickname of "Ranger"?

Could someone please explain his nickname of "Ranger"?"Rongey" is a messed-up spelling of his family's historical French name of...um...Ranger - which, in French, would be pronounced "Ron-ZHAY".
