I remember Torborg getting alot of heat of over using Thigpen. Thigpen had complained of his arm being worn out at the end of the season. Thigpen said himself he got hurt in the Japan All-Star series which lead to his demise.

How many times in baseball history has this happened? I thought it was only twice, but I also thought that both times were against the Cubs. I know a Cubs opponent did it maybe 5 or 6 years ago.

I know that the Rockies did it maybe 5 years back, probably against the Cubs.

EDIT: Cinco de Mayo, 1999, Rockies vs. Cubs.
